Update: Sept. 2010 -- Chuggy must return to his home in South Carolina. We love him and wish him and his family all the best.

Marshall "Chuggy" Letter
Joining the Park-O-Lators in June, 2010, is backing rhythm guitarist, Marshall "Chuggy" Letter. His perfect rhythm and unique sense of effects add a solid structure to the Park-O-Lators sound.

For his first show playing with the Parkolators on Saturday July 17 at the Om Bar, Chuggy had only four weeks to learn four hours of originals written by the band, an impressive feat.

A Vermont native, Chuggy's family began to winter in the Daytona Beach area when he was 8 years old. He attended Saint Paul School where one of his classmates was Charlie Conlon who taught him how to play guitar. By the time they attended Father Lopez High School, they were good enough to land jobs working at Bob Quimby's recording studio in Ormond Beach, each earning $5 per song as session musicians recording commercials and demos for other songwriters. Chuck Conlon formed a folk group called The Craftsmen and invited Chuggy to join. They played at the Main Street Coffee House, the boardwalk, and many private parties hosted by local physicians and businessmen.

In 1966 while attending Daytona Beach Junior College , Chuggy was asked by guitar player Sylvan Wells to join the Nightcrawlers who were beginning to gain a national following with the release of the song, "Little Black Egg," written by Chuck Conlon, who had left the band. The band was in high demand, flying out of state on weekends for high paying gigs and in 1967, the song peaked at #85 on the charts. After 3 years, Chuggy quit the band to help with his families' business carving stone monuments. In 1970, he joined the Yak, a local 1960s tunes cover band, leaving in 1971 to get married. In 1974 he moved out of state, not returning to the Daytona area until this spring.
